Mechanical Examination, Licensing Information and Applications
Qualifications for a Mechanical Contractor's License
Must have a minimum of 3 years experience in each of the work classifications applied for below. Experience must be under the employ of a licensed contractor:
Hydronic heating and cooling and process piping
HVAC equipment
Ductwork
Refrigeration
Limited heating service
Unlimited heating service
Limited refrigeration and air conditioning service
Unlimited refrigeration and air conditioning service
Fire Suppression
Specialty License
Solar
Solid fuel
LP tank and pipe
Underground tank and pipe
Gas piping
Gas piping and venting
(Credit may be requested if you are attending or a graduate of a recognized trade school. A copy of your official transcript and your original diploma must be submitted.) A maximum of 1 year of the required three years of experience may be applied.
Must take and pass an examination for each work classification desired.
The exam site and parking are accessible. Individuals attending the exam are requested to refrain from using heavily scented personal care products, in order to enhance accessibility for everyone. Please make sure all cell phones, pagers and other personal elecronic devices are turned off or set to vibrate.
