Order to Show Cause

In the event a party is required by the Michigan Compensation Disability Act to file an item with the Commission and fails to do so on a timely basis, the Commission will enter an Order to Show Cause why the appeal should not be dismissed and require the party to respond within 14 calendar days.  Opposing parties will be allowed 14 calendar days to respond.  The Commission will consider whatever is filed and issue an order accordingly.  Reconsideration of such an order will not be entertained.

The Commission will no longer offer a 14 day opportunity to request reconsideration after dismissing an appeal.

In addition, orders entered by the Commission will refer to calendar days, not business days, and it is expected that the days will be in multiples of seven.
