The Michigan RDA examination consists of both a clinical and a written portion.

To take this examination and become registered in Michigan, an applicant must submit an application to the Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs, Bureau of Health Professions. Also, an applicant must have graduated from a program for Registered Dental Assistants that has been approved by the board.

The Bureau of Health Professions will mail out an admission letter with complete information concerning the exam approximately 10 to 14 days before the exam. The applicant will receive information on the location and time of the exam along with a map and any additional information needed.

Results are reported approximately 6-8 weeks following the examination date.
