This study conducted by the USDHHS, Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality, provides initial results that hospitals can use to compare their patient safety culture to other U.S. hospitals.

• The Joint Commission International Center for Patient Safety
The Joint Commission and Joint Commission Resources (JCR) established the Joint Commission International Center for Patient Safety in March 2005. The Center is a natural extension of the well-established patient safety activities for which the Joint Commission and JCR are recognized. The Center leverages the expertise, resources and knowledge from both the Joint Commission and JCR.

• Minnesota Alliance on Patient Safety
The Minnesota Alliance for Patient Safety (MAPS) is a partnership among the Minnesota Hospital Association, Minnesota Medical Association, Minnesota Department of Health and more than 50 other public-private health care organizations working together to improve patient safety.
