The Michigan Freedom of Information Act (FOIA), 1976 PA 442, allows the public access to non-exempt records by submitting a written request. A FOIA request can be submitted to the Bureau of Commercial Services by fax (517) 241-9296, e-mail (by completing the form below), or by regular mail to: FOIA Coordinator, LARA/Bureau of Commercial Services, P.O. Box 30018, Lansing, MI 48909.
You will generally be charged for any records copied and mailed to you. The copy charge is currently $0.25 per page unless special reproduction or duplication of a record is necesssary. Postage or mailing charges, or special handling, may be on an actual cost basis. You will be notified if the estimated cost for a record exceeds $50 and a deposit in one-half of the total estimated cost must be submitted before records are copied/duplicated and mailed.
