The Limited Liability Act was amended by 2002 PA 686, effective December 30, 2002, and provides an active limited liability company is in good standing if its annual filings are up to date and that a company is not in good standing when it has failed to file an annual statement or report within two (2) years of its due date.

We are working on an update to the Business Entity Search to indicate whether an active limited liability company is in good standing or not in good standing. Only names of active limited liability companies in good standing are considered when determining name availability.
