Architects Examination

Michigan requires all applicants to complete the computer administered,NCARB Architectural Registration Examination (ARE)Check out NCARB's web site for specific information regarding exam content, study materials and other information pertaining to the ARE examination.

Reciprocal applicants must verify completion of examinations equivalent to those being administered in Michigan at the time of original licensure. Below is a historical summary of examination formats for Michigan.

37 hour w/out degree
10/80 - 5/83 28 hour w/degree
37 hour w/out degree
6/83 - present Architectural Registration Exam (ARE)
