Education Requirement

Current board rules require that applicants for the architectural registration examination possess an NAAB accredited first professional degree in architecture.

Applicants who do not possess an NAAB accredited first professional degree in architecture must provide evaluation of their education equating it to NAAB guidelines. Contact the National Architectural Accrediting Board, Inc (NAAB) for information regarding the evaluation procedures.

Reciprocity Applicants

Education requirements will be based on those in effect in Michigan at the time of original licensure:

 1933 - 12/76  No education required
1/77 - 9/80  Acceptable bachelors degree
10/80 - 6/84  4 year pre-professional degree in architecture
7/84 - present  NAAB first professional degree in architecture
