In addition, an applicant is required to submit a fingerprint exam in the format determined by the Department.  An applicant must not be under sentence for the commission of a felony within the 5 years immediately prior to application for a license.

A person who is a licensed polygraph examiner in good standing in another state may be issued a Michigan license without examination, if at the time the applicant was initially licensed, the requirements for licensure were substantially equivalent to those in effect in Michigan and the applicant has satisfied any current requirements for licensure.
