MARCH 14, 2006

Secretary of State Terri Lynn Land today announced that the Mobile Branch Office will be at the Allendale campus of Grand Valley State University in Ottawa County on April 21.

The facility is a full-service Secretary of State branch office and is accessible to the disability community. It is hauled statewide on a 24-foot trailer.

The university is at 1 Campus Drive. The mobile office will be in front of the Cook Carillon Tower. Hours are 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.

"The first step in making your voice heard is registering to vote," Land said. "I encourage students to take advantage of this opportunity by visiting the mobile office while it is on campus. It's a convenient way to register or to conduct other business with the Secretary of State."

The Mobile Branch Office has logged more than 100,000 miles since it first hit the road nearly eight years ago.

Land encourages all customers who have Internet access to check out the Department of State's online services at www.Michigan.gov/sos before visiting any branch office. For example, license tabs and watercraft registrations can be renewed online. Browsing the site will help customers determine requirements before they go to an office.
