Check CE Hours Posted: Important Information

To check reported real estate continuing education (CE) clock hours that approved Sponsors have transmitted to the Department of Licensing & Regulatory Affairs (LARA), open the "Check a License" link here or under "Quick Links" in the right hand column of the real estate licensing main page. Identify the licensee by using either the licensee name or license ID number.  Once the licensee's name appears in blue, click on it and then scroll down and click to the "continuing education" link. Since this feature is available to anyone who wishes to verify CE hours, LARA encourages employing brokers to routinely access it to monitor all affiliated licensees' required CE.  This will help to ensure CE requirements are met when license renewals are being processed and not delay issuing the licenses due to insufficient or incorrect hours reported.  If discrepancies are noted, the first contact should be to the CE Sponsor to ensure that the attendance was reported.  Sponsors have five days to report to the Department.  Please allow sufficient time for the hours to post.

Real estate licenses expire 10-31-2012.  Classes that are being given by approved CE Sponsors are designated "L" for this current three-year period.

The continuing education hours are displayed in two views on the screen.  One is "Current Cycle" which will display all "L" course hours/classes and the other is a view of all CE hours that have ever been reported to the Department.

Important : If a duplicate course is reported (licensee took the same course twice, even if it was with a different Sponsor), the first report will be displayed under Current Cycle and the duplicate course will display under "all" CE but cannot count toward renewal twice.  This is also important if you used any L classes/hours to renew late or get relicensed.

If you have any questions about your requirements or how to verify hours, e-mail:  bcslic@michigan.govor call 517-373-7353.

Thank you for your anticipated cooperation.
