December 29, 2016 - The Bureau of Fire Services (BFS) today announced the opening of the 2017 consumer fireworks application period and low impact registration process. All consumer fireworks applications and required plans must be submitted by midnight, April 1, 2017. Low impact registrations can be submitted at any time but must be completed at least 10 days prior to sales.
Applicants will notice a new system for submitting all Fireworks Applications for the 2017 fireworks application process. The home page has been updated for the 2017 fireworks season. All links including Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) have been updated to reflect the new Accela application system. Also, the step-by-step tutorials are current and available to assist with the introduction to Fireworks, the application process, Fire Safety Fee and Citation online payment process, and transfer requests.
The 2017 applicants will continue to have the ability to report their monthly sales and submit their safety fees online. However, applications will be denied for any applicants who have unpaid safety fees or are missing reports (all zero sales must be reported for the 2016 certificate fireworks season).
When submitting documents for 2017 applications, applicants MUST submit all of the required documents at the time of application or the application will be denied.
To start the application process, go to the following link https://aca3.accela.com/lara/. There are instructions on the Bureau of Fire Services website; click on the following link to access the instructions 2017 Application Process Tutorial.
Applicants who have questions about the process may contact the Bureau of Fire Services by calling the BFS main line at 517-241-8847, or 517-373-7441; or by e-mail at email@example.com.
