July 12, 2011The Michigan Public Service Commission (MPSC) today approved a settlement agreement authorizing Upper Peninsula Power Company (UPPCo) to reconcile its uncollectibles expense tracking mechanism for the 2010 calendar year.
The utility is authorized to refund to customers $159,557, on a service rendered basis, in September. An Interconnected System residential customer using 500 kilowatt-hours (kWh) of electricity a month will see a credit on their September bill of approximately $3.35. An Iron River District residential customer using 500 kWh of electricity a month will see a credit on their September bill of approximately $5.01
The utility and the MPSC staff participated in the settlement agreement.
The MPSC is an agency within the Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs.
