April 4, 2017 - The Greater Detroit Chapter of the American Society of Safety Engineers (ASSE) and Kelly Services, a workforce solutions provider, teamed up with the Michigan Occupational Safety and Health Administration (MIOSHA) today in Troy to discuss workplace safety and health and allow employers and employees to learn about MIOSHA services and initiatives.
The event provided an informal opportunity for nearly 80 general industry and construction employers and workers to get the latest updates from MIOSHA, ask questions and learn about partnership opportunities to advance safety and health in the state.
“This type of event provides an excellent opportunity for MIOSHA to educate before we regulate and bring people together to promote safety in the workplace,” said MIOSHA Director Bart Pickelman. “By teaming up with great hosts and sponsors like Kelly Services and the Greater Detroit Chapter of the ASSE it allows MIOSHA to work collaboratively to raise awareness of safety and health issues in the workplace and ensure that workers go home safe to their families and loved ones at the end of the day.”
“Connecting MIOSHA to Industry” is a multi-year project to enhance customer service and program effectiveness. In line with LARA’s “customer driven, business minded” philosophy, the initiative focuses on increased communication, coordination and outreach.
