Stand-Down Event Focuses on Fall Prevention and Worker Safety at Little Caesars World Headquarters Campus Expansion in Detroit
As part of the National Safety Stand-Down to Prevent Falls in Construction week from May 8-12, 2017, the Christman Company and the Michigan Occupational Safety and Health Administration (MIOSHA) hosted a Stand Down for Fall Prevention event at the site of the Little Caesars World Headquarters Campus Expansion in Detroit.
“As we enter construction season MIOSHA is reminding workers and employers of the importance of fall prevention,” said MIOSHA Director Bart Pickelman. “Partnering on a large scale construction project like this one is a great way to educate and train a large number of workers on how to prevent falls and other safety best practices.”
Falls continue to be a leading cause of death for construction workers not only in Michigan but across the nation. These Stand-Down events are aimed at helping to educate and train employees and contractors on the correct way to utilize fall protection equipment to help ensure workplace safety on the job site.
“Our unwavering commitment to workplace safety is always present on the job site,” said Douglas Norton, Senior Project Manager, Brinker|Christman A Joint Venture. “Our joint stand-down event with MIOSHA adds to our many efforts to ensure safety on our worksite.”
MIOSHA will continue to partner with employers across the state to host stand-down events to reach as many Michigan workers as possible, and spread the message about the MIOSHA Stop Falls. Save Lives. campaign that focuses on fall prevention in the workplace.
