The bill amends the Management and Budget Act to prohibit a state agency from using a 900 telephone number or other telephone system that charges the caller for access to public information held or maintained by a state agency. The Department of Consumer and Industry Services formerly had two 900 numbers, one in the Corporations Division and a second in the health licensing area. Both have now been discontinued.
