Community Planner Examination

Applicants must complete a national and state examination.

AICP Examination

A 150 question, multiple choice exam that covers basic knowledge central to the field of planning, as well as specialized knowledge. The exam is administered by the AICP in conjunction with the Educational Testing Service in May of each year at over 200 test centers throughout the US. Michigan Practice Examination

A 90 question, multiple choice state exam that may include questions from the following topics:

Subdivision Regulations
Community/Economic Development
Zoning
MI Occupational Code
Court Decisions
Physical Planning
Regulatory Elements
Site Planning
