State Law Library Research Services for State of Michigan Employees

Access:

Effective March 14, 2011, the State Law Library is open from 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and staff is available to assist library users with their research.  Please contact us at lmlawlib@michigan.gov. Research Services:

The State Law Library provides nonpartisan, confidential research services for the Michigan Legislature and state government. We utilize materials from the Library of Michigan's law, Michigan and documents collections to assist state employees with their work-related questions. Among the electronic services used are Lexis, Westlaw, HeinOnline and the Library of Michigan's own Mel.org.

Use our State Government Research form to submit a request by email or send your question to lmlawlib@michigan.gov.  You will receive an answer by phone or email, usually within 24 hours (weekends and holidays excluded).

If you need immediate assistance or prefer to speak with a reference librarian, please call (517) 373-1300, 8 a.m. - 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Training Sessions:

Librarians are available to assist you in working more effectively with electronic and print legal resources. Please contact us at (517) 373-0630 or lmlawlib@michigan.gov to arrange for individual or group tours and training sessions.
