    A goal of the Center for the Book is to bring literary activities to a broad range of people that might not otherwise have these experiences. One way we do this is to provide small grants for literary events in Michigan.

  • 2016 MCFB Grant Procedures

    The Michigan Center for the Book will partially fund events or projects in Michigan that enhance or complement our mission to promote an awareness of books, reading, literacy, authors and Michigan's rich literary heritage.

    The Michigan Center for the Book is accepting grant applications now through 21st, 2016 for the year. Please take a look under the "more" button below for the grant criteria and application. Past grants are also listed in the grants section for those looking to see what has been funded before. The grant program is intended to assist libraries, nonprofits or schools to have free, public events that enhance or complement our mission to promote an awareness of books, reading, literacy, authors and Michigan's rich literary heritage. Grant funds are generously provided by the Center for the Book affiliate members.

Current Grants

  • 2012 Literary Grant Recipients The Michigan Center for the Book awarded 11 grants for a total of $2,965.00 for literary events in 2012. Congratulations to the recipient libraries and thanks to our affiliate libraries for funding the grant program. Part of the Center for the Book's mission is to encourage reading and literary events throughout the state. Our grant program is one way we do that.
