For genealogists, writers looking for good stories to tell, and historians, there’s nothing like old laws and old court decisions. We’ll look at two rich sources to illustrate the human side of the law in Michigan: local (private) law, and the Michigan Supreme Court Records and Briefs, and trace (or speculate on) the circumstances that brought these citizens to the attention of the law.
