LANSING, February 25, 2007 - Green might be the new favorite color of State Rep. Barb Farrah (D-Southgate).

Farrah, one of five finalists in the Lottery's $2 million drawing Friday night at The Palace of Auburn Hills, was the lucky winner when the prize wheel stopped on green, the color of the shirt she was randomly given prior to the drawing. That made her the $2 million winner in the $20 Instant game drawing.

Other finalists in the drawing, who each received $5,000, were Michael Adair of Imlay City, Crystal Awdish of West Bloomfield, Silvia Boyde of Canton and Daniel Lynch of Redford. Each qualified for the drawing by claiming a $1,000 prize in one the following $20 Instant games: "$2,000,000 Cash Winfall", "Millionaire's Club", "$2,000,000 Explosion", and "$35,000,000 Riches", and "Double Red Millions". The five lucky finalists were chosen from a pool of 875 entries.

The grand prize drawing was conducted at during the Detroit Pistons vs. Milwaukee Bucks basketball game.

Over 95 cents of every dollar spent on Lottery tickets is returned to the state in the form of contributions to the state School Aid Fund, prizes to players and commissions to retailers. In fiscal year 2007, the contribution to schools was $748.9 million. Since its inception in 1972, the Lottery has contributed more than $14.3 billion to education in Michigan.
