Michigan player wins Mega Millions jackpot!

LANSING, June 16, 2008 - Michigan Lottery officials are waiting to hear from the lucky player or players who won Friday night's $56 million Mega Millions jackpot.

The winning ticket, with the numbers 08 09 14 38 44 and 36 (Mega ball), was sold at Party World, 5568 Alpine Ave NW in Comstock Park.

The person holding the winning ticket should contact the Michigan Lottery's Public Relations Division at 517-373-1237 to schedule an appointment and make arrangements to claim the prize money.

Over 95 cents of every dollar spent on Lottery tickets is returned to the state in the form of contributions to the state School Aid Fund, prizes to players and commissions to retailers. In fiscal year 2007, the contribution to schools was $748.9 million. Since its inception in 1972, the Lottery has contributed more than $14.3 billion to education in Michigan.
