Win For Life Raffle winners begin collecting prizes!

Win for Life Raffle LANSING, June 23, 2009 - Win For Life Raffle winners are already collecting big prizes! Just one day after the drawing, five of the $50,000 prizes have been claimed. The top prize of $1,000 a week for life of has not been claimed.

Winners claiming the $50,000 prizes so far include Wilbert Sherrod of Detroit; Bob Loving of Taylor; Richard Otter of Inkster; and two players who wish to remain anonymous. Of the 25 $50,000 prizes, 20 remain unclaimed.

The lucky tickets were purchased at Mousa Fuels, Inc., 2010 E. Jefferson Ave., in Detroit; Alex's Donut Kastle; 24555 Eureka Rd., in Taylor; Unity Service Corp., 1716 S. Merriman Rd., in Westland; Kroger #738, 4692 State St., in Saginaw; and Speedway #6293, 250 N. 3rd Ave., in Fruitport.

The Win For Life Raffle is the Lottery's 12th raffle to date. Featured was one top prize of $1,000 a week for life, 25 prizes of $50,000 and 10,000 prizes of $100. All 10,026 winning numbers are posted on the Lottery's Web site, www.michigan.gov/lottery.

Players must present their original Win For Life Raffle ticket in order to claim a prize. The player who wins the top prize of $1,000 a week for life must call the Lottery Public Relations office at 517-373-1237 to schedule an appointment to claim their prize. Those players who have $50,000 prizes can claim them at any Michigan Lottery regional office and those with $100 prizes can claim them at any Michigan Lottery retailer.

Over 95 cents of every dollar spent on Lottery tickets is returned to the state in the form of contributions to the state School Aid Fund, prizes to players and commissions to retailers. In fiscal year 2008, the contribution to schools was $740.7 million. Since its inception in 1972, the Lottery has contributed more than $15 billion to education in Michigan.
