Finalists chosen for Million Dollar Mega Play $1 million drawing, $20 instant ticket $2 million drawing and Instant Replay $1 million drawing

LANSING, December 11, 2009 - Finalists for the Michigan Lottery's $20 instant games $2 million grand prize drawing, Million Dollar Mega Play $1 million drawing and Instant Replay $1 million grand prize drawing, have been selected.

The finalists for the $2 million grand prize drawing are from the following cities:

  • Bay City
  • Caro
  • Howell
  • Troy
  • Traverse City

  Finalists for the $1 million Million Dollar Mega Play grand prize drawing are from the following cities:

  • Canton
  • Howell
  • Sterling Heights

  Finalists for the $1 million Instant Replay grand prize drawing are from the following cities:

  • Warren

Finalists qualified for the $2 million drawing by claiming a $1,000 prize in one the following $20 Instant games: "Multi-Millions", "Casino Royale", "$2,000,000 Diamond Dazzler", "Lucky Game Book", and "$2,000,000 Club." The five lucky finalists were chosen from a pool of 614 entries.

Finalists qualified for the $1 million Million Dollar Mega Play drawing by claiming a $1,000 prize on the Million Dollar Mega Play ticket (#322). The finalists were chosen from a pool of six entries.

Finalists qualified for the $1 million Instant Replay by entering $10 worth of non-winning eligible instant tickets on the Lottery's VIP player website, www.playercity.net. The finalist was chosen from a pool of over 800,000 entries. Two additional finalists will be selected in April and August 2010 (tentatively) to compete in a grand prize drawing in late 2010.

The grand prize drawings will be conducted at the Lottery's half-hour game show, "Make Me Rich!" airing on February 10, 2010. The game show will be televised on the following local Lottery broadcast stations:  WBKB - Alpena, WDIV - Detroit, WNEM - Flint, WXSP - Grand Rapids, WLAJ - Lansing, WJMN - Marquette/Escanaba, WMKG - Muskegon, and WGTV - Traverse City.

Over 98.5 cents of every dollar spent on Lottery tickets is returned to the state in the form of contributions to the state School Aid Fund, prizes to players and commissions to retailers. In fiscal year 2009, the contribution to schools was $724.5 million. Since its inception in 1972, the Lottery has contributed more than $15 billion to education in Michigan.
