LANSING, September 18, 1998 – Just one week after winning $350, Jack Haar of Port Huron collected the $100,000 top prize in the Cash 5 game!

Haar, who has been a regular Michigan Lottery player since 1972, matched all five numbers – 3, 4, 10, 12 and 21 – in the Cash 5 drawing on August 6.  Haar chose the winning numbers because they have special family significance.

"I saw the numbers in the Detroit Free Press, and I was pretty surprised that I had all five numbers," Haar said.  "My wife was very excited too!"

The 78-year-old winner said he would use part of his winnings to help pay for a trip to Las Vegas that had already been planned, and would invest the rest of it.

The winning Cash 5 ticket was purchased at Military Billiards, 922 Military St., in Port Huron.

Cash 5 drawings are conducted every Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.  Odds to win the $100,000 prize are 1 in 575,757.  Tickets are available at more than 6,400 Michigan Lottery retailers statewide.
