LANSING, November 6, 2003 David Bartell of Grosse Pointe Farms and Louis Giannunzio of
Marshall both experienced a little Lottery luck upon matching all five numbers in the October 23 Michigan Rolldown drawing, each
winning half of the $13,770 jackpot and taking home a $6,885 prize! The winning numbers for the October 23 drawing were: 5, 7,
12, 24 and 32.
In total for the October 23 drawing, 15,432 winners shared $47,338 in prizes. In addition to the two
jackpot winners, 54 winners matched four numbers to win a $104 prize; 1,572 winners matched three numbers to win a $9 prize; and 13,804
winners matched two numbers to win the $1 prize.
Bartell purchased the winning ticket at Mister A’s Party Shoppe, 19210 Mack Ave., in Grosse Pointe
Farms.
Giannunzio, who is a retiree, purchased the winning ticket at Wacky Willy’s Party Time, 515 S. Kalamazoo
Ave., in Marshall.
The 63-year-old winner, who chose his own winning number combination, discovered he had a winning ticket
after looking up the winning numbers in a local newspaper.
Prior to turning the winning ticket in at the Lottery’s regional office in Lansing, the winner told Lottery
officials that he kept it in his pocket at all times to ensure its safety. Giannunzio added that he and his wife, Diane, do not yet
have any special plans for the winnings.
Michigan Rolldown drawings are held seven days a week at 7:29 p.m. The cost to play is $1.00 per wager.
Tickets are available at more than 7,000 Lottery retailers statewide.
