LANSING, April 5, 2005 – A very lucky former Michigan State University employee is the latest
Fantasy 5 winner. The Lansing woman, who opted to remain anonymous, claimed a
$105,000 jackpot.
The regular Lottery enthusiast has played since
its inception in 1972. After grocery shopping for napkins, the winner decided to buy a Lottery ticket. She saw her numbers come up on T.V. and knew she was a winner. She went to a Lottery retailer to confirm her good fortune and it was true!
The winner hid her easy-pick winning ticket under her bedroom rug before cashing it in at Lottery Central. The ticket was purchased at
Meijer #24, 6200 S. Pennsylvania Ave., in Lansing.
Fantasy 5 is the Michigan Lottery’s newest game, which replaced Michigan Roll Down. Drawings for the game are held seven days a week. Jackpots start at $100,000 and grow by approximately $5,000 daily.
All proceeds from the Lottery are contributed to the state School Aid Fund which supports kindergarten through 12th grade public education in Michigan. In fiscal year 2004, the contribution was $644.8 million.
