LANSING, November 9, 2005 – A very lucky project manager from
Ann Arbor cashed in on a $10,000 Mega Millions prize today. Jonathan Sills matched four white balls and the Mega ball to win the prize.
The Mega Millions prize structure changed beginning with the June 24 drawing when California became part of the
Mega Millions game. The previous prize for matching four white balls and the Mega ball was $5,000.
Sills couldn’t believe his luck when he checked the numbers on the Michigan Lottery’s Web site. He “screamed out loud” and then “shook like a leaf until it sunk in.” He plans to pay bills with his lucky winning ticket that he hid in a dresser drawer before cashing it in at one of the Lottery’s regional offices. In his free time Sills enjoys listening to music.
The lucky own pick ticket was purchased at Ann Arbor Party Center, 1612
Jackson, in Ann Arbor.
Mega Millions is a multi-state lottery game in Michigan, California, Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Texas, Virginia and Washington. Wagers cost $1 each and tickets may be purchased at more than 10,000 Michigan Lottery retailers statewide.
