LANSING, June 13, 2007 - A very lucky Romulus
winner has cashed in after matching four white balls, plus the Mega ball in the
May 22 Mega Millions drawing.
David Freitag claimed his $10,000 prize at
the Lottery office in Dearborn Heights.
The winner said he was "stunned" when he finally
realized his ticket was a big winner, he had to check it four times to be sure.
He plans to invest his prize money. The winning
ticket was purchased at Total Tobacco of Wayne, 4908 S. Wayne, in
Wayne.
Mega Millions is a multi-state lottery game in
Michigan, California, Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey,
New York, Ohio, Texas, Virginia and Washington. Wagers cost $1 each and tickets
may be purchased at nearly 11,000 Michigan Lottery retailers statewide.
All proceeds from the Lottery are contributed to
the state School Aid Fund which supports kindergarten through 12th grade public
education in Michigan. In fiscal year 2006, the contribution was $688 million.
