LANSING, August 14, 2008 - An anonymous man claimed his $55,000 half of the August 6 Fantasy 5 jackpot. He also won four other times on the ticket, bringing his grand total to $55,310.

The lucky winning own-pick ticket was purchased at Glenn's Liquor Shop, 20810 Harper Ave., in Harper Woods.

Fantasy 5 drawings are conducted seven days a week. Jackpots start at $100,000 and grow by approximately $5,000 daily.

Over 95 cents of every dollar spent on Lottery tickets is returned to the state in the form of contributions to the state School Aid Fund, prizes to players and commissions to retailers. In fiscal year 2007, the contribution to schools was $748.9 million. Since its inception in 1972, the Lottery has contributed more than $14.3 billion to education in Michigan.
