LANSING, February 21, 2003 Two lucky Wayne
County residents are rolling in dough after each matching all five numbers
in the Michigan Lottery’s Michigan Rolldown game to win separate jackpot
prizes!
A lucky Trenton woman was happy to
discover she had matched all five numbers in the November 21 drawing to win a $13,960
jackpot prize! That day’s winning numbers were: 1, 3, 6, 24 and 28.
In total for the November 21 drawing, 15,166
winners shared $48,193 in prizes. In addition to the sole jackpot winner, 41
winners matched four numbers to win a $139 prize; 1,490 winners matched three
numbers to win a $10 prize; and 13,634 winners matched two numbers to win the $1
prize.
The jackpot-winning ticket was purchased at Trenton
Express Market, 2471 W. Jefferson Ave., in Trenton.
The lucky 80-year-old winner, who requested
anonymity, said she saw the winning numbers broadcast on television and that was
when she discovered she had a winning ticket.
Prior to turning the winning ticket in at the
Lottery’s regional office in Dearborn Heights, the lucky woman said she kept
it in her wallet at all times to ensure its safety. She added that she plans to
share her winnings with her family.
A lucky Grosse Ile man matched all five
numbers in the February 10 Michigan Rolldown drawing to win a $13,290
jackpot prize! That day’s winning numbers were: 7, 8, 18, 20 and 32.
In total for the February 10 drawing, 14,002
winners shared $44,798 in prizes. In addition to the sole jackpot winner, 37
winners matched four numbers to win a $147 prize; 1,345 winners matched three
numbers to win a $10 prize; and 12,619 winners matched two numbers to win the $1
prize.
This lucky man, who requested anonymity,
purchased the winning "easy pick" ticket at Marathon, 13169
Northline Road, in Southgate.
The 57-year-old winner, who works as a tailor at
Hot Sams, looked up the winning numbers in a local newspaper and that is how he
discovered he won the jackpot.
Prior to turning the winning ticket in at the
Lottery’s regional office in Dearborn Heights, the lucky man said he kept it
in his office to ensure its safety. He added that he plans to use his winnings
to pay bills.
The first Michigan Rolldown drawing was held on
February 28, 2000. Drawings are held seven days a week at 7:29 p.m. The cost to
play is $1.00 per wager. Tickets are available at more than 7,000 Lottery
retailers statewide.
