LANSING, January 30, 2004 – A lucky Avoca woman recently realized instant wealth with the Michigan Lottery’s WINFALL game.
Upon matching five of six numbers in the WINFALL drawing on Saturday, January 17 she won a
$24,012 prize! The winning numbers for that drawing were: 22, 30, 38, 39, 42 and 49.
In total for the January 17, 2004 WINFALL drawing, there were 27 lucky winners who will each receive $24,012 for matching five numbers; 1,499 winners who will each receive $908 for matching four numbers; and 28,536 winners who will each receive $43 for matching three numbers.
The lucky winner, who requested anonymity, purchased the winning ticket at Walsh’s Party Store, 2741 Pine Grove Ave., in
Port Huron.
The 44-year-old winner, who works as a merchandiser at Kraft-Nabisco Co., told Lottery officials that she does not yet have any special plans for her winnings.
WINFALL drawings are held twice a week Wednesday and Saturday at 7:29 p.m., and the cost to play is $1 per wager.
Tickets are available at more than 7,200 Lottery retailers statewide.
Since it was created in 1972, the Michigan Lottery has transferred over $11 billion to the state School Aid Fund, which supports K-12 public education in the state of Michigan.
