More winners collect big prizes!

Lucky 7s Raffle LANSING, October 2, 2009 - Five more players have collected Lucky 7s Raffle prizes worth $70,000!

The five winners, who wished to remain anonymous, purchased their winning Raffle tickets at Admiral Petroleum Co #1, 6990 N. Lafayette St., in Greenville; the Rusty Nail Lounge, 43845 Ford Rd., in Canton; 7-Eleven 32721, 48989 Romeo Plank Rd., in Macomb; Meijer #54, 20401 Haggerty Rd., in Northville; and CVS Pharmacy 08077, 40900 Ann Arbor Rd., in Plymouth.

In addition to the winners who claimed Raffle prize today, James Broome of Lake Ann; Denny Stafford of South Bend, Indiana; Tammy Smith of Union City; and an anonymous player from Traverse City each collected $70,000 on tickets purchased at MC Short Stop, 8634 S. Maple City Rd., in Maple City; Jay's Lounge, 3025 S.11th St., in Niles; Brotts Grocery, 8122 M 60, in Union City; and the Garfield Shop N Go, 1050 S. Garfield Ave., in Traverse City.

Thousands of prizes remain unclaimed, including the two top prizes worth $700,000 and nine remaining $70,000 prizes.

The Lucky 7s Raffle was conducted on September 30 and is the Michigan Lottery's 13th Raffle to date. Featured were two prizes of $700,000 each; 18 prizes of $70,000; 1,800 prizes of $700; and 18,000 prizes of $70.

Over 95 cents of every dollar spent on Lottery tickets is returned to the state in the form of contributions to the state School Aid Fund, prizes to players and commissions to retailers. In fiscal year 2008, the contribution to schools was $740.7 million. Since its inception in 1972, the Lottery has contributed more than $15 billion to education in Michigan.
