LANSING, September 16, 2008 - The first
Million Dollar Madness million dollar prize has been claimed by a very lucky
woman who has chosen to remain anonymous. The winning ticket was claimed today
at the Lottery's Lansing office.
With 11 top $1,000,000 prizes available, Million
Dollar Madness offers more opportunities for players to win $1,000,000 than any
other Michigan Lottery instant ticket.
The lucky winning ticket was purchased at
Kaders Party Shoppe, 319 Marquette Street, in Bay City.
Million Dollar Madness is just one of many
Michigan Lottery Instant tickets available at nearly 11,000 Lottery retailers
statewide.
Over 95 cents of every dollar spent on Lottery
tickets is returned to the state in the form of contributions to the state
School Aid Fund, prizes to players and commissions to retailers. In fiscal year
2007, the contribution to schools was $748.9 million. Since its inception in
1972, the Lottery has contributed more than $14.3 billion to education in
Michigan.
