Lottery club wins $1,000,000 Raffle of Riches prize!

LANSING, January 6, 2012 - A Lottery club with five members, who wish to remain anonymous, won the third $1,000,000 Raffle of Riches drawing which took place on December 28.  The entire group came to Lansing's Lottery office to claim their prize.

 

The winning ticket was sold by Speedway #5503 at 5211 N. US Highway 23, in Oscoda, Michigan.

 

Over 95 cents of every dollar spent on Lottery tickets is returned to the state in the form of contributions to the state School Aid Fund, prizes to players and commissions to retailers.  In fiscal year 2011, the contribution to schools was over $727.3 million. Since its inception in 1972, the Lottery has contributed over $16 billion to education in Michigan.
