The commission was established earlier this year by Governor Jennifer M. Granholm
to find ways the state can double the number of students who obtain college
degrees and other credentials over the next 10 years in order to attract knowledge-based
businesses to Michigan.
"Michigan’s economic future is tied to our ability to raise the
education and skill level of our workforce," said Lt. Governor Cherry.
"We are anxious to hear from leaders and citizens across the state about
how to meet this challenge."
