The Colon Police Department is looking for a part time officer that could turn into full time June 2017.   Colon is located in the north east section of St. Joseph County. Starting hourly pay is $13.00 per hour increased to $15.00 per hour after two years. Part time position is scheduled for 20 hours per week and must be available to cover sick days, vacation time, holidays and special events. Previously the part-time officer averaged 32 hours per week. All equipment will be provided. Once hired an employee must be able to respond to emergency call in within a reasonable amount of time. Please do not email applications.

MINIMUN REQUIREMENTS

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • MCOLES licensed or licensable. Applications accepted if you are in academy.
  • No felony arrest or convictions.
  • Valid Michigan drivers license with good driving history.
  • Pass a background investigation.
  • Pass physical, physiological and drug exam.
