The Village of Vicksburg, Michigan is looking for an individual with a high level of professional ethics, integrity and proven leadership skills to serve as its Chief of Police. We are looking for a Chief of Police who is results oriented, works efficiently, shows a record of success, is community oriented, wants to work in a team environment with the Village Council, Village Manager, and other staff, and has a passion for serving the public. As a working chief's position, the candidate will be expected to work patrols and answer calls for service, as needed. The Chief will also be responsible for directing law enforcement activities of the department with up to 5 full-time police officers, 1 School Resource Officer, and 3-6 part-time officers. The budget for the fiscal year 2016/2017 was approved at $615,804.00. The Village of Vicksburg is a growing, progressive community with a residential population of 3,300 that reside within the 3.151 square miles of jurisdiction. Qualified applicants must possess at least 5 years of experience with extensive knowledge of police principles and budget experience. Position is full time and possesses a health, dental, and life insurance package, MERS Defined Contribution Plan, paid holidays, vacation, and sick leave. Salary will be dependent upon qualifications; however, the range is $59,000 - $63,500.
