Salary Range: $17.69 to $27.88 per hour per labor agreement. Educational incentive pay of $.42 per hour for a 2-year Associate's Degree or $.71 per hour incentive pay for a Bachelor's Degree. Description: Perform police duties related to the safety of the public and provide service responses to reports of crimes in progress and/or crimes that occurred previously. Respond to requests for medical services and emergencies commensurate with training received and respond to traffic accident scenes to provide medical aid, investigation and enforcement of related traffic laws. Provide other non-criminal complaint services as directed. Works in cooperation with individual citizens and formal/informal citizen organizations to identify and resolve community problems.

Qualifications: Be licensed / licensable by the Michigan Commission on Law Enforcement Standards (MCOLES). Applicant must have taken the EMPCO examination prior to submitting an application. For information on the EMPCO examination go to Two years of college education credits at minimum; undergraduate degree or higher preferred. You must live within 20 miles of the nearest Township boundary prior to end of probationary period. Undergo and pass medical fitness and psychological exams as administered by the employer's contracted agents. Possess and maintain a valid motor vehicle driver license issued by the State of Michigan.
