Michigan Campus Compact's (MCC) Michigan Service Scholars (MSS) enlists 400 minimum-time Education Award AmeriCorps members to support the mission of community-based organizations and increase the number of volunteers throughout the state. The program engages approximately 25 partner colleges and universities statewide, which recruit students to work with local 501(c)3 nonprofits, K-12 institutions, and faith-based organizations. At least 200 of these 400 members will be student teachers, using service-learning as an important tool in the classroom.
