Huron Pines AmeriCorps is designed to enhance the success of grassroots conservation organizations and increase their ability to provide services to their communities by recruiting 12 highly qualified, full-time members. AmeriCorps members will have the opportunity not only to develop real world skills, increase experience, and network with other resource professionals, but also to have a real impact on the area by completing conservation projects that otherwise would not be done. The Huron Pines AmeriCorps program provides an opportunity to develop as a resource professional in the conservation community during a one-year term of service. AmeriCorps members are placed in northern Michigan with a variety of organizations including nonprofit resource management groups and conservation districts. Members provide assistance with volunteer engagement, habitat restoration, environmental stewardship, and new conservation services. Member position descriptions are available online at www.huronpines.org
