2009 Governor's Service Awards Honors Volunteers!Governor Jennifer M. Granholm and First Gentleman Daniel G. Mulhern recognized outstanding individuals, organizations, and businesses during the 2009 Governor's Service Awards, held Thursday, June 18. The Governor's Service Awards are given annually to individuals, businesses, and organizations to acknowledge their commitment to serving their communities through volunteerism.A celebration was hosted by Governor Jennifer M. Granholm and First Gentleman Daniel G. Mulhern to pay tribute to finalists, including the award winner, in each of the eight categories that demonstrate the diverse nature of volunteers throughout the state.
