Learn and Serve - MichiganLearn and Serve - Michigan is part of the Learn and Serve America grant program for school age youth supported by the Corporation for National and Community Service (CNCS). The Learn and Serve America program funds and assists in the development of high quality service-learning programs in K-12 schools and in community-based organizations. Service-learning is a teaching and learning approach that connects meaningful service to the community with academic learning, helping youth to gain a deeper understanding of what they are learning, to acquire new knowledge and to engage them in civic activity. The Michigan Community Service Commission (MCSC), in partnership with the Michigan Department of Education, is the administrative agent for Learn and Serve - Michigan.
