21st Century Energy Plan: "On April 6, 2006, Governor Granholm issued Executive Directive No. 2006-2, calling for the development of a comprehensive plan for meeting the state's electric power needs. The directive asks for recommendations to ensure the state can both reliably meet its growing electric needs and keep electric costs competitive. The plan will encourage the use of new technologies and explore ways to continue the growth of the alternative energy industry in Michigan."

Current pending legislation bills:

  • House Bill 5033 - Property tax; exemptions; methane digester and methane digester electric generating system; exempt. Amends sec. 9 of 1893 PA 206 (MCL 211.9). Last Action: 12/7/2006 - PLACED ON ORDER OF THIRD READING
