GOVERNMENT & EXPORT
Selling to Government and Exporting
Obtaining government contracts can be the key to expanding both the marketing and income potential of any business. Government agencies at all levels contract for the majority of goods and services needed. To become eligible for state contracts, a business must complete a vendor payee registration packet with the Department of Management and Budget. To obtain a packet call (517) 373-4111 or write:
Department of Management and Budget
Project MAIN
Knapp’s Office Centre, Lower Level
300 South Washington Square
Lansing, Michigan 48909
The vendor registration packet includes a list of commodities and services required by state government. When completing the vendor registration form, indicate which products or services you are interested in providing to the state. Once the registration information is processed, the business will appear on bidder’s lists for those commodities/services indicated. These lists are utilized by all departments within state government.
