The Food Digest Newsletter is the Michigan Department of Agriculture's newsletter for the food industry and consumers. The Food Digest Newsletter offers important information on Michigan's Food Law, which went into effect November 8, 2000. The law was enacted to modernize, standardize and consolidate Michigan's food laws while adopting the Food and Drug Administrations (FDA) 1999 Food Code as a uniform regulatory standard for retail food establishments. The Food Digest Newsletter is mailed to restaurants, other foodservice facilities, grocery and convenience stores.
