Quarantine Level I - All the sixty-eight contiguous County area of the Lower Peninsula.
Quarantine Level II - In the Upper Peninsula - the City of St Ignace and the townships of Moran, Brevort, and St Ignace in Mackinac County. In Chippewa County - the area near Brimley State Park. In Houghton County - the City of Hancock, the townships of Torch Lake, Schoolcraft, Calumet, Osceola, Franklin, Hancock, and Quincy. In Delta County - the townships of Fairbanks, Garden, and Nahma. In Schoolcraft County - the townships of Inwood, and Thompson.
Quarantine Level III - The entire County of Keweenaw and the remaining portions of Mackinac, Houghton, Delta, and Schoolcraft Counties in the Upper Peninsula not identified in Quarantine Level II above.
Regulated Articles - The emerald ash borer, Agrilus planipennis (Fairemaire), in any living stage of development. All hardwood firewood (not just ash) with bark, ash logs with bark, ash lumber with bark, hardwood wood chips greater than one-inch, ash limbs, ash branches, and ash stumps. "Bark" means "the natural bark of a tree, including the ingrown bark around knots and bark pockets between rings of annual growth and an additional ½ inch of wood including the vascular cambium."
Movement - The movement of hardwood firewood and other regulated articles out of the sixty-eight contiguous county area of the Lower Peninsula is prohibited unless under a valid MDA Compliance Agreement.
The movement of regulated articles originating from a Quarantine Level II area is prohibited out of the Level II area without a valid MDA Compliance Agreement except regulated articles may move from Quarantine Level II of Mackinac County into Quarantine Level I of the Lower Peninsula without a Compliance Agreement.
The movement of regulated articles originating from a Quarantine Level III area is prohibited out of the Level III area without a valid MDA Compliance Agreement except regulated articles may move from a Quarantine Level III area into an adjoining Quarantine Level II area.
Compliance Agreement Treatments - Compliance Agreements are typically utilized by those in the forest products industry who can meet approved treatment methods. Approved treatment methods currently include removing 100% of bark and an additional ½ inch of wood or kiln drying, fumigation or heat treating according to approved treatment schedules.
Nursery Stock Moratorium - The sale and/or movement of all ash nursery stock within, out of or into Michigan is prohibited under all conditions.
