MDA Laboratory Seed Testing Services

A wide range of purity, noxious weed, germination and vigor tests are available at the state seed testing laboratory. Samples may be brought or mailed to the laboratory at:

A Sample Analysis Request form should be used. Download a PDF of the form. See table below for appropriate sample size.

Samples can also be dropped off Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. at the above address.

Samples must be surely packaged to prevent damage during shipment. Payment may be made by check payable to the State of Michigan at the time of submission or after billing. For special tests or other information, please contact the state seed laboratory at 517-337-5040.
