Commercial applicators and registered applicators must satisfy recertification requirements for each category or take a re-examination in category(ies) which they lack sufficient credits. New categories can be added by completing the original examination.
Applicators who carry both private and commercial certification will only need to earn one core recertification set of credits (at least 12) to cover both credentials.
Credits must be earned before your certification or registration expiration date.
Aerial applicators must participate in at least one Operation Safe Fly-In with their aircraft in order to recertify in the Aerial Standard and one category of certification. Attendance at a second Operation Safe Fly-In, with or without their aircraft, during the same certification period recertifies the applicator in all remaining categories of certification.
If you have questions about the Recertification by Training Meeting Attendance Program, or if you would like additional information, please contact your regional Michigan Department of Agriculture office.
