Licensing Decision Tree: Pesticide and Fertilizer & Lime

Each new, existing, and proposed commercial pesticide and/or fertilizer bulk storage facility is required to register annually with the Michigan Department of Agriculture.
All firms that have their names and address on the labeling or invoicing for an agricultural fertilizer manufactured or distributed in the State of Michigan are required to obtain a Facility License..
The manufacturer or distributor must license all agricultural liming materials distributed in the State of Michigan.
Any commercial applicator who holds him/herself out to the public as being in the business of applying pesticides within this state for compensation must have his or her business licensed by the state (some exceptions apply).
A person applying a pesticide product in the course of his or her employment or other business activity in the state of Michigan must be a certified pesticide applicator or registered technician.
all pesticides used in the state of Michigan must be registered with the state first.
to deal in restricted use pesticides in Michigan you must be a licensed RUP dealer.
